In the late 19th century, Château Listran reached its largest size, an impressive 875 acres. Through a series of owners, including a former duke who served as a general in the Spanish Army, the size of the estate was gradually scaled down to accommodate a shift in focus to exclusively low-yield, high quality wines. Owned today by the Creté family, the Château earned the well-deserved Cru Bourgeois status in 1988.
