Chile's Most Progressive
Wine Estate

When brothers Hernán and Eduardo Gras and partner Cristián Hartwig envisioned the formation of a world-class winery in their native Chile, three elements took center stage: location, winery design and vineyard management. The pursuit of these goals, combined with the involvement of a team of innovative and enthusiastic experts, has served as the foundation from which MontGras has become one of Chile's premier wineries. Click here to read more about MontGras.

MontGras celebrated the opening of its new winery and visitor center in March 2003. Designed in collaboration with a top Canadian engineering company, the winery is one of the most modern winemaking facilities in Chile and represents an investment of over $15 million. Outfitted with ultra-modern technology, the 1,000 square meter facility is built in the classic Spanish colonial style and surrounded by landscaped gardens. It includes a wine shop (also featuring items such as clothing, wine accessories, local handicrafts and olive oil), purpose-built tasting rooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, dining room and a banqueting facility that can accommodate up to 700 guests.

Guided tours include a walk through the vineyards and winery, followed by a tasting of two reserva wines. More extensive tastings are available upon request. Please allow a minimum of 1 ½ hours for your visit. Additional activities, by appointment, include a horseback ride through the Ninquen Hill vineyard and a “Make Your Own Wine” session.

For a taste of local cuisine, the MontGras staff recommends a meal at Hotel Santa Cruz Plaza, La Hacienda de Lolol or Pan Pan Vino Vino Restaurant. Inquire at the winery for directions and reservations.

While in the area, be sure to visit the Colchagua Valley Museum, El Huique Museum and take a ride on the Colchagua Valley Wine Train.
